Happy Birthday Roman

Lucky Roman got to celebrate his birthday two times last week - once with just us and the second time with his grandparents, great-grandparents, aunts and uncles. He loved the birthday celebrations so much that when he woke up yesterday, he asked, "More birthday?"

In honor of his birthday, we cooked crab legs since Roman loves them so much (plus, we can always find an excuse to eat them). Of course we had cake and ice cream for dessert and I made a special octopus shaped cake for the occasion.

Octopus cake, thank goodness the one for the birthday party turned out much better. Look at the sad left eye that migrated south with the melting frosting. I'll stick to my day job.

New golf clubs!

Octopus cake #2, I told you the second one was cuter than my first attempt.

Roman loves his tee-ball set, thanks Grandma & Grandpa.

Posing with Prababa

Prababa bought Roman a play kitchen and grill - he absolutely loves it. Everyday since the birthday party, I've had great food and coffee from Roman's kitchen. When he serves Ruth and I coffee, he warns us that its hot and that we should blow on it. The kitchen set came with some pretend food too. Roman is particularily fond of the hamburger, which he calls "han-a-burger-burger".

Everyone had fun with the play kitchen, even Papa!

On Saturday we got some big news - Mimi and Cam are expecting their first baby in March!! Congratulations to you both, you're going to be great parents.

The pictures below of Ruth and Carl are from one of our nightly walks around the neighborhood. I usually carry Ruth in my sling, but Carl decided to put her in the Baby Bjorn carrier so she could face outwards while we walked. Well, Ruthie spent the majority of the walk staring at me and every few minutes she would give a little sigh. What a Mama's girl ... it makes my heart swell!!

I'll just leave you with a few more pictures of the kids in their pajamas ... the cutest time of the day.

Hi Carl, Meghan, Roman and Ruthie, Your pics are great.Your blue octopus cake was very creative!!! It was fun seeing you up in Charlevoix - sounds like your trip home was much smoother altho LATE. I just discovered that one can read other people's blogs on Amy's. Fun! Guess I must not have paid attention before. Love you all, Aunt Dianne
