The 2nd Annual Bonfiglio-Schuemann Christmas Tree Hunt was held the Sunday after Thanksgiving. We started out at Big Boy for some much needed breakfast to keep our strength up for the tree hunting. Carl and Mimi are usually the ones who pick out the trees for their respective families and they tend to hunt for the perfect one (which can take a while). Well to my surprise, this year we found our tree within the first ten minutes of looking. That meant more time for hot chocolate and cookies!

Decorating the tree
We decided to use LED lights this year and as a result, the tree looked ... um, kinda spacey!
We took a trip to
The Henry Ford to have Roman and Ruth sit on Santa's lap. The Santa is amazing and the place is just plain cool. Of course the kids were a little taken aback by Santa, but when Roman was asked what he wanted for Christmas he clearly answered "Choo-choo ... Thomas the Train".

We, too, tried out the LED lights this year. After carefully decorating our tree with family ornaments and handmade garlands, we lit the tree. Rather than the warm glow of Christmases past, our lights were environmentally friendly and icily piercing. We love the space theme!
We miss you! Happy New Year.
